What drives you to work on Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae elimination?
Because I am passionate about disease diagnostics, I think that it is critical to understand what the detection of Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae via PCR can represent, what variables affect the detection of bacterial genetic material, and how it can all be interpreted in the context of pathogen elimination.

What drives you to work on Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae elimination?
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is an economically significant bacterial pathogen of pigs, particularly in the face of a PRRSV co-infection. Now that we have validated protocols that can successfully eliminate it from herds, we should strive to accomplish that goal whenever possible.

What drives you to work on Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae elimination?
Seeing the performance difference between a previously Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae negative flow and after it becomes positive clearly indicates the value of M. hyopneumoniae elimination. The health impact and improvement after that herd becomes negative again will be the only way great performance will be achieved.
